We're shortlisted for the ADE Awards 2018

ADE CHP Awards 2018 – Edina is thrilled to be shortlisted across 6 categories at this years’ Association of Decentralised Energy (ADE) awards with friends Thames Water/eight2O, Flexitricity, Granville Ecopark and Bausch + Lomb.

The categories and projects include:

Mogden Sewage Treatment Works, London, UK
Mogden Sewage Treatment Works’ latest CHP significantly improves plant serviceability, increases power generation by 47%, whilst reducing carbon emission. The CHP plant significantly reduce noise pollution, and meets the demands of London’s population growth – treating 50% more sewage and meets the Environmental Agencies effluent quality standards.

Granville Ecopark, Northern Ireland
Supply and install of eight reciprocating gas engines, ranging from 220kW to 1200kWe, comprising a power output of 5.78MWe as part of the onsite CHP plant requirement.

Mogden Sewage Treatment Works’ latest CHP significantly improves plant serviceability, increases power generation by 47%, whilst reducing carbon emission and potentially saves over £6million in energy costs per annum for Thames Water.

Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow
Edina 3.6MWe combined heat and power plant and Flexitricity’s Demand-side Response model kick-starts energy journey for Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. CHP reduces energy costs by £1million per year, reduces carbon emissions by 1/5 per year and maintains security of power supply at site.  The hospitals participation within the Capacity Market supports vital investment into the NHS to maintain critical front-line services.

Bausch + Lomb, Waterford City, Ireland
Bausch + Lomb utilises CHP technology at its new state of the art facility in Waterford City, Ireland. The Edina installed CHP plant reduces Bausch + Lomb’s operational costs by €1million per annum and forms part of Bausch + Lomb’s wider sustainable and energy strategy.

Applications / Tendering Engineer, Ricardo Capasso
Edina Applications / Tendering Engineer Ricardo Capasso joined in January 2017 and is showing great promise. Ricardo has become instrumental in supporting the wider Tendering and Sales teams, and is currently account managing a number of district heating projects.

Former Joint Managing Director, Tony Fenton
Tony Fenton’s career spans over 20 years’ within the power generation industry. In 2006, Tony joined Edina as Joint Managing Director, and during his tenure, has been instrumental in the development and growth of the company to achieve considerable success in the UK and Ireland. Today, Edina has over 500MWe installed gas capacity across the UK and Ireland, and now commands 27% UK market share.

The winner of each Award category will be announced at a fabulous black-tie dinner, sponsored by Edina, to be held at the City of London’s Guildhall on 24th October 2018.

The annual ADE Awards is a flagship event – recognising and celebrating collective achievements in decentralised energy to include combined heat and power (CHP), energy efficiency, demand side management, heat networks and integrated energy solutions.
