Beyond the Miles: Edina's Charity Cycle Raises over £10,000

The rain was relentless. The hills seemed endless. But for the determined team of cyclists from Edina, every painful pedal stroke was powered by a purpose greater than themselves: supporting two vital charities, Northern Ireland Hospice and Prostate Cancer UK.

Over three gruelling days, this team of eleven riders and their indispensable support crew embarked on an epic 180-mile journey across two countries, pushing through adversity and straight into the heart of our community's generosity.

The Journey: From Stockport to a Hero's Welcome in Lisburn

The challenge began in Stockport, UK, with a mix of nerves and excitement. The route was a testament to their ambition:

• Day 1: Stockport to the Welsh port of Holyhead.
• Day 2: Ferry across the Irish Sea, then Dublin to Newry.
• Day 3: The final push from Newry to the Lisburn office.

The elements threw everything they had at the team, from punishing hills to fierce headwinds and torrential rain. Yet, the sight of colleagues supporting each other, sharing encouragement, and laughing through the downpours became a source of incredible inspiration.

The culmination was a hero's welcome at the Lisburn office on Monday, 15th September. Cheers, applause, and beaming faces greeted the cyclists, transforming every sore muscle into a badge of honour. That moment was more than just finishing a ride; it was a celebration of unity and shared purpose across the entire Edina team.

The True Finish Line: Smashing Our Fundraising Target

While the physical destination was Lisburn, the real goal was always to make a significant impact for our chosen charities.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our colleagues, clients, partners, and friends, we have achieved something phenomenal. We are thrilled and humbled to announce that we have not only smashed our original target of £7,000 but are now beyond an incredible £10,000!

Your donations, shares, and cheers were felt on every mile of that difficult journey.

Why It Matters

The team raised funds for two causes that mean a great deal to us:

1. Northern Ireland Hospice – After the heartbreaking loss of one of our engineers this year, the hospice provided extraordinary care and compassion in his final days.
2. Prostate Cancer UK – A cause close to our hearts, as many of our colleagues and their families have faced the impact of prostate cancer.
