UK, 21/11/2025 - Edina, a leading provider of distributed energy generation solutions, is proud to announce that its hybrid/microgrid project delivered for BioteCH4 at the Holme Bioenergy plant has been awarded ‘Project of the Year’ at the prestigious Association of Manufacturers Power Systems (AMPS) Awards for Excellence 2025.
The AMPS Awards for Excellence celebrate the outstanding achievements and innovations within the power generation industry. The Edina project at Holme Bioenergy was recognised by the judging panel for its innovative approach to solving complex energy challenges.
The award-winning solution co-locates 2 x 1.2MWe MWM gas engines for Combined Heat and Power (CHP), a 1MWe Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and standby generation. This integrated system masterfully overcomes critical grid connectivity constraints while simultaneously addressing the triple challenges of energy affordability, resilience, and sustainability for the client.
The judges praised the Holme Bioenergy project as a "technically excellent and multifaceted" initiative, noting that its success has already led the client, BioteCH4, to replicate the model, setting a strong new example for the commercial and industrial energy sector.
