Former Edina Director Tony Fenton wins lifetime achievement award

Edina’s former Joint Managing Director Tony Fenton has been recognised at the Power Industry Awards winning a Lifetime Achievement Award for services in the power generation industry.

The award was presented by members of the Association of Decentralised Energy and Mock the Week comedian and host Hal Cruttenden.

Tony Fenton’s career spans over 20 years’ within the power generation industry. He has held senior roles at Combined Power Systems (now ENER-G) as Contracts Sales Manager and Deutz UK within their Energy Division before joining Edina UK Ltd in 2006 as its Joint Managing Director.

During his tenure at Edina UK Ltd, Tony has been instrumental in the development and growth of the company. In 2006, Edina secured the official distributor for MWM gas engines in the UK and Ireland, and soon won the company’s first order for a 3.9 megawatt combined heat and power plant at Leeds General Hospital.

Under Tony’s direction, Edina was proud to receive a 2014 Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its innovation within the renewable energy sector and has continued to be recognised within the power generation industry – winning multiple awards for high profile projects.

Today, Edina has over 500MW of electrical installed gas capacity across the UK and Ireland, and now commands 27% UK market share.

The Power Industry Awards formed part of the Critical Power and Decentralised Energy event which took place at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on the 18th and 19th April.
