Richard Patton’s Story
I’m responsible for Edina’s production facility based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Our team of 60 personnel construct an average of 8 highly bespoke, containerised gas sets per month. Close co-operation between our mechanical, electrical and IT design departments, control panel assembly, stores and factory floor teams enable us to manufacture complex units within tight delivery and installation schedules.
The environment in which we work is highly dynamic and constantly changing, depending where we are in the build process of the containerised sets.
Between the production team, there’s a wealth of mechanical and electrical technical knowledge that’s shared and implemented into each built containerised set we build. Every detail is considered… from ambient temperatures, parasitic loads, noise and heat requirements and specific site requirements such as space, client equipment we need to interface with or how the container will be sited.
Furthermore, radiators, fans, silencers, breakers, EGHE and pumps are sized to ensure that we deliver the maximum efficiency and maintainability for our customers, whilst complying with all current legislation.
I joined Edina in 2009 as a Project Engineer before becoming Production Manager, and ultimately, Head of Production. I’m currently responsible for the production of all containerised units across our entire business.
Year-on-year, we’ve continually increased our production capabilities and capacity. Investments made into additional shop floor space have allowed us to complete over 120 containerised sets in 2016, which have been shipped to sites across the UK, Ireland and Australia.Back to Careers
